Author Joe Kimball at the Fairmont Library

Joe Kimball, journalist and author of “Secrets of the Congdon Mansion” will have a program beginning 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Fairmont Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Join library staff as he will speak about the murders at the Glensheen mansion in Duluth and his book on the topic. There is no cost to attend this program and no need to register. This program is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Red Rock plans Saturday music event

Dan Rodriguez, a country pop musician, takes the stage starting 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. Doors and cash bar open 30 minutes prior to the show. The public is invited.

CER to offer upcoming community activities

Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer two upcoming community activities. First, Strong is the new Skinny, Total Body Strengtheners you can do at Home class will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, online via Zoom. Not everyone can be skinny, but everyone can be stronger even if you don’t get to the gym several times/week. Learn how to strengthen your arms, back, shoulders, chest, hips, butt and thighs using resistance bands while watching your favorite TV or radio show. These multitasking exercises can fit easily into even the busiest of schedules and will help you look and feel better.  You’ll learn lots of tips and techniques to improve overall health and wellness.  All levels of fitness welcomed. The fee is $29. Registration closes Sept. 25. Also a Face Yoga class will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 online via Zoom.

Facial exercises can take years off your appearance by reducing frown and forehead lines, reducing “puppet mouth’ lines, lifting and firming neckline, making upper and lower cheeks fuller, reduce puffiness and sagging around eyes, improve circulation and nutrient flow into cells and improve lymph circulation.
