Lutheran Women to hold fall rally Sunday

Blue Earth Zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Fall Rally will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. The speaker will be Missionary Hesham Shehab of Salam Christian Fellowship. Gifts from the Heart will be collected for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont.

Knitting and Crochet Club Tuesday at the library

The new knitting and crochet club will meet 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. Bring supplies to get started on a project, or bring a project you’re working on. This program is open to the public, and no registration is required.

BEA to hold conferences Tuesday

Parent-student-teacher conferences for Blue Earth Area High School students in grades 8-12 will be held virtually and in-person from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4. Students and parents can use the link ‘Conferences Sign Up’ for times to meet with teachers. Students are encouraged to attend conferences along with their parents, or alone if parents are unable to attend. Also, BEA School Counselor, Mrs. Lindsay, will host two virtual presentations via Google Meet about College and Career Planning from 6-7 p.m. and Financial Aid (completing your FAFSA) from 7-8 p.m. All families are welcome to join either or both sessions but are most beneficial for 12th grade students and parents. Everyone is welcome.

Garden Club plans annual meeting Wednesday

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will hold its annual meeting and election of officers beginning 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Red Rock Center, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave. in Fairmont. They will meet in the art room on the lower level. Parking is available in the lower level parking lot. Please enter through the back door. Light refreshments will be served. They will elect garden club officers, review the club’s constitution, review committee assignments, civic projects, presentation theme and also collect membership dues for the upcoming year.
