IHD reschedules meeting to Thursday

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Interlaken Heritage Days meeting scheduled for Sept. 26 has been rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in the shelter house at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. Board elections will take place and anyone interested in learning more about the committee are encouraged to attend.

Eagles set Saturday meeting

Eagles 6th District will hold a meeting 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Fairmont Eagles Club, 1228 Lake Ave. in Fairmont. All members are encouraged to attend.

Humane Society to hold dog walk Saturday

Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk for Animals sponsored by the Martin County Humane Society will be held 2 p.m. until done on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the animal shelter at 522 E. Margaret St. in Fairmont. Rain date is Oct. 8. This is a new dog walk event for the society. Registration is $10 per adult, ages 16 and over. Participants will clap for the best Halloween costume worn by the dogs and owners, with the big prize being a portrait painted of your dog. Smaller prizes for other things will also be given out. Hotdogs, chips, bars and water will be furnished for those who have registered. Donations will be taken to help purchase new crates for the small dog room and to paint the colony cat room.
