Class of 1961 to lunch Wednesday

Fairmont High School class of 1961, spouses and friends, will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Library to host photography basics class

Join library staff for a photography basics class with Jessica Sauck beginning 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. She will show you how to capture art in your everyday life using your camera. For questions, call the library at (507) 238-4207.

Calling all Quilts

Please consider entering a quilt (or several) in the Blue Earth Quilt EXPO. This is a community show, you need not be a member of our group. We love to see the variety of quilts from Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa. The only restriction is that it cannot have been shown at the Blue Earth Quilt EXPO previously. To enter a quilt, find the “quilt write-up form” in the Blue Earth Quilt EXPO group page on Facebook. Either send that info in to the email contact on the form, or attach it to your quilt. Quilts can be dropped off at Michele’s Sewing or Heartland Embroidery in Blue Earth by Aug. 10, or they can be brought to the Blue Earth High School between 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. Quilts will be released at the end of the show around 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. For additional information, call Jan at (507) 526-3979.
