Historical Society offers program

A video presentation featuring the military experience of Marlin Johnson will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. There is no charge. The public is invited to attend.

Church plans free meal

First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont will offer a free community meal sponsored by the East Chain 4-H from 5:30 p.m. until the food is gone Wednesday at their church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. They will serve a meal consisting of ham and cheese sandwich, chips, fruit cup, bars and water. This will be a drive through pick up meal in the alley behind the church. Everyone is welcome.

Salute to Veterans next week

Hunting with Heroes, a non-profit organization, will offer a ‘Salute to Veterans’ at three racetracks, Wednesday, July 28, in Spencer, Iowa, Thursday, July 29, in Algona, Iowa, and Saturday, July 31, in Boone, Iowa. All veterans (and widows of veterans) receive FREE race admission, meals, drinks, gifts, coozies and $20 gift cards at each track. Pre-race activities will include a fan zone, meal, veteran giveaways, live music, flyover and recognition of veterans and law enforcement.
