Pow Wow slated in Mountain Lake

The 87th anniversary of Pow Wow will be held June 18-22 in Mountain Lake. There will be raffles, food, petting zoo, baseball and softball games, music and more, with the grand parade on Third Avenue being held 7 p.m. on June 21. And from 8:30 p.m. to midnight on June 21, there will be live music and beer garden at The Den featuring Redemption Road Band on Second Avenue. Gospel quartet Saturday in Burt

The Fabulous Blackwood Quartet, a quartet which presents the word of God through four-part harmony in southern gospel style, will be in concert 7 p.m. Saturday at Burt Presbyterian Church in Burt, Iowa. A free will offering will be taken with all of the proceeds going to the quartet. Everyone is invited.

Church to host outdoor service

Grace Lutheran Church of Fairmont will host a community outdoor worship service 11 a.m. Sunday at the Sylvania Park Bandshell in Fairmont. All are welcome to join them.

Ruby’s Pantry planned in Sherburn

Ruby’s Pantry will be held in Sherburn Monday at the Regional Worship Center, 2 Crossroads Drive, in Sherburn. Distribution will begin around 5:30 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. This will be as a drive-through again. Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles, as volunteers will load bundles of food into trunks. (Please have trunks emptied out so workers can put the items directly in there). Please do not bring any containers. There will be a worker at the beginning of the line to collect the $20. No income or residency requirements.
