Men’s steak fry planned June 19
The Bethel Men’s Steak Fry will be held Saturday, June 19, at the Fairmont Hockey Arena, Martin County Fairgrounds. Guest speaker is Retired Major General Robert F. Dees. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the dinner starting at 6 pm. The cost is $25. Please register on the Bethel Church website, or call the church at (507) 235-5513. Registration ends on June 9, so please register ASAP.
College News
Katelynn Reddick of Blue Earth, and Jessica Holland of Bricelyn, were named to the dean’s list for the 2021 spring semester at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.
The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the 2021 spring semester at North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D.: Jackson — Abagail Turner; Truman — Shawn Shoen, Sadia Zafar.
The following area students graduated and were awarded degrees and honors following the 2021 spring semester during graduation ceremonies held May 7 and 8 at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa: Blue Earth — Benjamin Backstrom, bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering (magna cum laude); Bricelyn — Sadie Burkhow, doctor of philosophy in analytical chemistry; Fairmont — Benjamin Huinker, bachelor’s degree in software engineering (summa cum laude); Granada — Darren Gronewold, master’s degree in engineering management; Swea City — Brittney Evans, doctorate in veterinary medicine; Truman — Brytni Drevlow, bachelor’s degree in interior design (summa cum laude).
