BEA to hold conferences Tuesday

Parent-student-teacher conferences for Blue Earth Area High School students in grades 8-12 will be held virtually from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday. Students and parents can use the link ‘Conferences Sign Up’ for times to meet with teachers. Students are encouraged to attend conferences along with their parents, or alone if parents are unable to attend. Juniors, seniors and parents remember to attend the virtual post high school planning sessions and/or financial aid session. Juniors will be 5-6 p.m., seniors from 6-7 p.m. and financial aid (completing your FAFSA) from 7-8 p.m. In addition, there will be a parent advisory meeting. Everyone is welcome.

Fall Festival at Heritage Acres is a go

Heritage Acres Fall Festival will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 11. The event will include an ecumenical church service at 10 a.m., a soup luncheon fundraiser for Heritage Acres at 11 a.m., and Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen will begin their performance at noon in Prairieville. All the buildings will be open starting 11 a.m. for self-guided tours, and the farm house will have fresh-baked cookies. Events also include corn shelling and apple pressing along with other activities for youth. Of course, bean and corn harvesting will be going on. Plenty of hand sanitizer will be available, and people are asked to wear masks while in the buildings. About 100 people can be in Prairieville socially distanced and the entire Heritage Acres campus is 40 acres. All are invited.
