Blood drive slated for Wednesday

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Legends II, 103 E. Main St., in Elmore. Donors of all blood types are needed. The Red Cross notes that extra sanitary precautions are used and it is safe to give. Masks are a good idea as well. ‘Tolstoy in the Park’ set for Thursday

A community-led “read aloud” of Russian author Leo Tolstoy’s tale “The Death of Ivan Ilyich” will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the bandshell at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. The event is free and open to the public. Physical distancing will be respected. For more information, call (507) 848-4414.
