Memorial Day program slated Monday
Because of public health concerns related to COVID-19, many Memorial Day events in the Fairmont area have been cancelled, but there will be a program hosted by the Fairmont American Legion and Fairmont VFW at 10 a.m. Monday at the Martin County Veterans Memorial on Winnebago Avenue in Fairmont. The program will include a flag-raising, pledge of allegiance, prayer, rifle volley and the playing of “Taps.” The public is invited but people are asked to stay near their vehicles in the parking lot at the site.
Alexis Lunn of Fairmont was named to the dean’s list for the 2020 spring semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.
