Fishing derby in Fairmont cancelled

The 2020 Kid’s All American Fishing Derby sponsored by Bass Seekers B.A.S.S. Club and Early Riser Kiwanis has been cancelled because of ongoing increases in COVID-19 cases in the area. The plan is to hold the event again in 2021.

College News

The following area students received degrees following the 2020 spring semester during a virtual convocation ceremony May 8 at Iowa State University in Ames: Blue Earth — Zach Vaske, bachelor’s degree in agronomy; Bricelyn — Adam Legred, bachelor’s degree in agricultural business; Fairmont — Larissa Becker, bachelor’s degree in animal science.
