Blue Earth Area to hold conferences
Parent-student-teacher conferences for students in grades 8-12 will be 4-8 p.m. Monday in the commons at Blue Earth Area High School in Blue Earth. Students are encouraged to attend conferences along with their parents, or alone if parents are unable to attend. In addition, there will be a parent advisory meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday in the media center at the school. The primary discussion topic will be the lunch hour program for next year. Brass quintet to offer music events
Founded in 2015 to provide music for events held at the Vietnam Traveling Wall Memorial, Armstrong Boulevard Brass Quintet, a traditional brass group comprised of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba, will perform a music program 6 p.m. Monday at the Truman Community Building and 6 p.m. March 2 at the Sherburn Theater. The quintet, which includes members Craig Brenden, Thomas Bierer, Steve Spieker, Dave Stordalen and Al Tonn, will play music filled with hope, energy and fun. They play baroque, classical, movie and TV themes, romantic, renaissance, rock, jazz and pop. This is made possible by voters of Minnesota through a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. All are welcome to attend.
Republican Caucus set for Tuesday
Martin County Republican Caucus will be held Tuesday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn, 1201 Torgerson Drive, in Fairmont. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the caucus will convene at 7 p.m. All precincts in Martin County will meet at this time and location.
