Early Risers set Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature Peter Engstrom, who will speak about the upcoming public reading of the story “The Christmas Carol” as written by Charles Dickens. The public is invited to attend.

United Methodist slates Wednesday supper

Fairmont United Methodist Church will host a supper from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church located at 119 E. Second St., Fairmont. The menu will consist of tacos with all the fixings, fruit, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, donated desserts and beverages. A donation of $2 is suggested. Everyone is welcome.

Dance club to hold Sunday dance event

Arc Different Drummer Dance Club will have a dinner and dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn. Please RSVP for the dinner and/or if attending the dance before noon on Thursday by contacting Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017. The public is invited to attend.

Noah Becker of Fairmont, who attends Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, was recently named to the 2019 American Rivers Conference Fall All-Academic Team by the league office.
