Girl Scouts product sale set to begin

Girl Scouts fall product sale in Martin County begins Saturday and continues through Oct. 20. Area Girl Scouts will sell chocolates and nuts. The Scouts can provide a link for those who would like to purchase magazines. Those who have not been contacted by a Girl Scout and would like to help support the local Girl Scouts may contact Judy at (507) 238-4859.

Regional Worship Center plans breakfast

Regional Worship Center in Sherburn will host a pancakes, eggs and coffee breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Monday at its facility in Sherburn. Cost is a donation. Everyone is invited.

St. John’s UCC plans Oktoberfest

St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold an Oktoberfest pork loin supper from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 301 N. Main St., Fairmont. The menu will include: roast pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy or German potato salad, green beans, applesauce, dinner roll, pie and ice cream, coffee or iced tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-12. Children ages 3 and younger eat for free. Take-outs are available by calling (507) 235-3500. Pick up at the back of the church. There will be a raffle drawing at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

City of Lakes Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will hold its annual meeting/election of officers at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Center Creek Orchard, 663 254th Ave., Fairmont. Speaker will be Wanda Patsche, co-owner and secretary/treasurer of CW Pork Inc., co-owner and blogger for MN Farm Living and regional ag curriculum specialist, who will share information on “Ag in the Classroom.” The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community.
