United Methodist slates Wednesday supper

Fairmont United Methodist Church will host a supper from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 119 E. Second St., Fairmont. The menu will consist of A&W Swiss burgers, baked beans, chips, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, donated desserts and beverages. A donation of $2 is suggested. Everyone is welcome.

Red Cross blood drive to be held

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 706 Third Ave., St. James. Blood donors of all types are needed, especially those with type O and B blood. Heritage Acres sets Thursday meeting

Heritage Acres will hold its monthly meeting Thursday at Heritage Acres in Fairmont. A light supper will be served 6 p.m. at the Prairieville building, followed by the business meeting. Final plans will be made for the Fall Festival on Oct. 13. The festival will include a chapel service, five soup and sandwich dinner, corn and soybean harvesting, horse plowing, blacksmithing, kiddie train rides, cookie baking in the farmhouse, apple juice making and classic cars. Church offering fresh apple pies

Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont is baking apple pies as a fundraiser. Those interested may call (507) 235-3090 and leave a message to reserve a pie by Friday. Pickup will be 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall at the church, in the gathering area at the church either before the Saturday evening service or from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday. Proceeds will benefit missions for the church.
