Ducks Unlimited fundraiser set for Thursday

The 46th annual Martin County Ducks Unlimited fundraiser will be Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Fairmont. This is a new venue. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and visitors will be able to view items and partake of appetizers. The program will begin 6:15 p.m. The cost is $35 per person, $65 for a couple, $20 for Greenwing and $300 for a sponsorship. Humane Society fundraiser set for Saturday

Martin County Humane Society will hold a plant sale fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the animal shelter, 522 E. Margaret St., Fairmont. Donations will be accepted prior to the sale at the animal shelter. All proceeds will benefit the homeless animals at the Martin County Humane Society. Everyone is invited.

Cultural event Saturday in St. James

The third annual multi-cultural Fiesta will be held beginning 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown St. James. The Fiesta event is an opportunity for all members of the community to come together and share with each other their cultural heritage. Information tables will be on site that deal with law enforcement, health care facilities, educational opportunities, service clubs, ACLU, Minnesota DNR and other organizations. The event is being sponsored in part by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation and many local industries and businesses. Truman historical group seeks members

Truman Historical Association will hold its fall beef fundraiser and membership drive dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Truman Community Building in Truman. The meal will be catered by Nancy Jo’s and will consist of beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied carrots, buttered corn, jello pretzel salad, homemade bread, chocolate or carrot cake, coffee, milk and water. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for those ages 5 and younger. Take-outs are available. New members are being sought. Everyone is welcome.

Dance club slates Sunday event

Arc Different Drummer Dance Club will host a dinner and dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Holiday Inn, Fairmont. Those interested are asked to RSVP for the dinner and if they plan to attend the dance before noon Thursday. The public is invited. For more information, contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
