Newcomers and neighbors to host event

Fairmont Area Newcomers and Neighbors will host a concert and conversation beginning 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Sylvania Park in Fairmont. The event will coincide with the concert of Becky Schlegel Music and Folk Art, sponsored by the Fairmont Opera House Summer Series. Fairmont Area Newcomers and Neighbors will meet before, during and after the concert to welcome any new people to the area. More information can be found on Facebook.

Library announces closing

All Martin County libraries will be closed Saturday and Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Also, the Martin County Library in Fairmont will begin fall hours beginning Tuesday. Fall hours will be: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
