Heritage Acres to hold meeting/potluck
The August monthly meeting for Heritage Acres will be held 6 p.m. Thursday in the Prairieville Building at Heritage Acres, Fairmont. This will be their annual potluck supper. Several dishes will be prepared with fresh vegetables from Heritage Acres’ garden. Each family is asked to bring a dish to pass. Eating utensils and beverages will be provided. After the meal, a meeting will be held to review the recent Threshing Day event and improvements done since the last meeting. Also upcoming celebrations will be announced. The public is invited.
Annual show planned this weekend in Iowa
The 40th annual Iowa Great Lakes Coin, Postcard, Stamp and Paper Money Show will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Community Building in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The event will feature 25 dealers from the Midwest who will have interesting and rare items for sale or trade. Many will be interested in purchasing material from the public. Virtually all numismatic, stamp and paper money fields will be represented including early and modern US coinage, foreign coins, U.S. and foreign paper, tokens and stamps. Admission is free. Bring the whole family.
