Red Rock offers community art show

Red Rock Center for the Arts is presenting a community art show and photo contest displaying 46 pieces of artwork and 19 photographs by 42 area individuals. Area residents are invited to visit and vote for the people’s choice award. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today-Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Early Risers to hold Wednesday meeting

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Featured this week will be Bob Huemoeller, treasurer and spokesman for Fairmont Dollars for Scholars. The public is invited.

St. John’s UCC plans annual event

The 36th annual Bazaar and Bake Sale will be 7:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main St., Fairmont. Egg bake, coffee cake and fruit cup will be available. Guests also can shop for baked goods, handmade crafts, fresh garden produce and cookbooks. The public is invited.

Ceylon class of 1979 plans 40th reunion

Ceylon High School class of 1979 will meet to celebrate its 40th class reunion at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Channel Inn, Fairmont. All classmates are urged to attend. For more information, call Elizabeth at (507) 639-5101.

Korean veterans to meet Thursday

Fairmont Chapter 254 Korean Vets will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m Thursday at the Pizza Ranch. Spouses also are invited. For more information, contact Gary Schwieger (507) 238-1675.

Children to present double feature

Fairmont Opera House Children’s Theatre Workshop will offer two productions this weekend at the Fairmont Opera House. Children in grades 3-5 will present “The Wizard of Oz: The Deleted Scene” while children in grades 6-8 will present Pixar’s “Madagascar Jr.: A Musical Production. Shows will be 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. They can be purchased online at www.fairmontoperahouse.com, by calling the Opera House at (507) 238-4900 or in person at the Opera House prior to the performance.
