Class of 1961 to lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1961, spouses and friends, will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

Fairmont Area Schools to hold registration

Student registration for Fairmont Area Schools will be held 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the media center at Fairmont High School. All students in grades 7-12 must have a school photo taken during registration. Registration for all grades may be completed on-line through Skyward’s parent access.

Quilts welcomed for EXPO in Blue Earth

Plans are being finalized for the 36th annual Upper Midwest Woodcarvers and Quilt EXPO to be held August 16, 17, and 18, at Blue Earth Area High School. 2019 featured quilter is Lissia Laehn of Blue Earth. Quilts of all kinds that have not appeared in previous EXPOs – new or old, large or small – are invited to be displayed according to Quilt Chair Mike Ellingsen. Heartland Embroidery and the Chamber of Commerce in downtown Blue Earth as well as Calico Hutch Quilt Shop in Hayward have graciously agreed to remain drop-off points for quilts. In order to be displayed in the show, quilts should be left at any of those businesses they morning of Aug. 14. Information forms to fill out to tell the story of each quilt will also be available there. For more information please contact Mike Ellingsen at (507) 526-5808.
