Historical Society to offer program

A PowerPoint program entitled “People of Martin County’s Past” will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. There is no charge. The public is invited to attend.

Patent Pending Players to offer play

Patent Pending Players of Swea City will present its summer play at 7 p.m. nightly July 1-3, with a 4 p.m. matinee July 3 at the Patent Pending Players Community Hall on Highway 9 between Armstrong and Swea City. There will be one full dress rehearsal June 30. Tryouts for children going into third grade this fall through eighth grade age will be 9-10:30 a.m. May 25 and 1-2:30 p.m. May 26 at the Community Hall. Nathan Telkamp of Fairmont was awarded an AAS degree in automotive technology during a graduation ceremony May 10 at Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, S.D.
