Great Books to meet

Great Books will meet 9:30 a.m. Monday at Harriet Richard’s home, The Meadows, 1310 Adams Ave., No. 211, Fairmont. The story is “Maidencane” by Chad B. Anderson.

Early Childhood screening upcoming

Fairmont Area Schools will offer Early Childhood screening for children born between Sept. 1, 2013, and May 3, 2016, on March 1, April 5 and May 3 (Fridays) in Suite 101 at Fairmont Elementary School. Minnesota law requires that all children entering kindergarten be screened prior to the start of school. The screenings will be conducted at no cost to families living in the school district. Appointments may be made by calling Fairmont Area Schools at (507) 235-6205 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Jessica Bicknase of Fairmont was awarded a bachelor’s degree in international relations (cum laude) and a bachelor’s degree in management (cum laude) during a recent commencement ceremony at St. Cloud State University.
