MANKATO -- Fairmont junior post player Wyatt Frank delivered a game-high double-double performance on Friday night to power the Cardinals into the KwikTrip Holiday Tournament's championship clash at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.
The 6-foot-7 Frank tossed in a game-leading 16 points and pulled down a game-best 16 rebounds to power Fairmont to a 42-35 victory over the Maple River Eagles during tournament semifinal action Friday night.
Fairmont (2-5), which has netted back-to-back wins for the first time this season, advances to face the Class 1A, No. 6-ranked Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers (10-0) at 8:30 p.m. tonight for the holiday basketball crown in the North Gym on the BLC campus in Mankato.
The Chargers declawed the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers, 63-38, during their tournament semifinal game Friday night.
Jack Hested produced nine points and grabbed four rebounds for Fairmont, which built a 24-16 halftime lead. Joey Flohrs generated six rebounds, three steals, three blocked shots and two points for the Cardinals.
Fairmont connected on 13 of 41 field goals overall, including 4 of 15 from 3-point range, and made 12 of 21 free throws on the semifinal contest.
Justin Caven netted nine points to top Maple River, while teammate Mason Sohre chipped in six points.

Blue Earth Area 66, United South Central 64 -- Carter Bell drained a corner 2-pointer with 17 seconds remaining in regulation to propel the host Bucs to a two-point triumph over the Rebels during first-round action at the BEA Holiday Classic on Friday night in Blue Earth.
Bell paced a balanced Bucs' scoring attack with a game-high 21-point performance, including five 3-pointers, while teammates Cameron Anderson and Austin Thielfoldt contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively, to the winning cause.
Zach Herrmann supplied eight points to the Bucs' performance, while Caelan Sanders chipped in seven points.
The Bucs held a narrow 36-35 halftime advantage before outscoring the Rebels by a 30-29 second-half margin.
A.J. Kloos and Colby Klocek each delivered 20 points to pace USC's effort, while Nolan Magnuson tallied 18 points.
Blue Earth Area (6-2) faces Jackson County Central (5-2) for the Holiday Classic championship at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Blue Earth.

Jackson County Central 91, Truman/Martin Luther/GHEC 64 -- Rudy Voss collected a game-best 24 points to steer the Huskies to a 27-point victory over the Jaguars during first-round action in the Blue Earth Area Holiday Classic on Friday.
Noah Carr contributed 18 points to JCC's winning ways, Andrew Hesebeck tallied 11 points, while Jack Brinkman scored nine.
JCC (5-2) faces host Blue Earth Area for the classic championship at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Blue Earth, while the Jaguars (4-4) take on USC at 5 p.m. today in the third-place game.
Freshman post player Adam Heckman generated 17 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots to top the Jaguars, while Paxton Gravlin tossed in 10 points.
Matt Heckman scored eight points, Isaac Johnson netted seven points, Carter Spear pocketed five steals, Owen Wolter distributed four assists and Cael Jaskulke grabbed five rebounds for the Jaguars.
