SHERBURN -- A spaghetti supper will be served 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in the cafeteria at Martin County West High School in Sherburn.
There will be no advance sale of tickets but only tickets purchased at the door that evening. Proceeds from the meal will go toward the after-prom party.
The MCW girls basketball team will play the Fairmont girls team that night.
Come early to eat, then stay for an exciting girls basketball game.

Ruby's Pantry will have a food distribution from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at East Chain Evangelical Free Church, 507 280th Ave., rural East Chain. There are no income or residency guidelines. Ruby's Pantry is funded by a $20 cash donation per participant for operational costs. Please bring two large boxes or laundry baskets for the food. For more information, call (507) 236-4653.

If you're looking for a way to help your elementary student with his/her reading skills, you might want to try the EMPOWER after-school program being offered at the MCW/Trimont Elementary School. Students get an hour and a half-lesson on various reading techniques in a fun, interactive way.
After the lesson, students get a study hall where they can work on school work and ask questions.
The program will be after school until about 4:45 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Busing is available back to Sherburn and Welcome.
If you're interested, permission slips are in the main office at the MCW school in Trimont or you could call and they can send you a form. If you have questions, call the school office in Trimont.

Adult Basic Education and GED classes are offered through Martin County West Community Education. These classes are free of charge and informal. If you have questions, please call Community Education at (507) 764-2336.

Fitness swimming is offered from 6-8 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the indoor pool in Sherburn. Also, water aerobics is held 7-8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The indoor pool in Sherburn is available for private rental for birthday parties, church groups, youth groups or family gatherings starting at $50. Tables and chairs will be available for your party. If interested, contact pool manager, Elizabeth Viesselman.

There is open gym from 2-4 p.m. every Sunday at the high school in Sherburn, and a men's night is held 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the gym at the high school in Sherburn.
