FAIRMONT - Miscues on a final field goal attempt from Fairmont during Thursday night's contest against St. Peter stamped a 15-14 defeat at Mahoney Field. It's the second straight loss the Cardinals have had by one point. Keyon Schutz scored Fairmont's opening touchdown with a goal-line run early in the second quarter. Cardinals quarterback Jensen Livesay snuck in the team's second touchdown with a 3-yard surge up the middle. St. Peter quarterback Alex Korir had a rushing touchdown on a fourth-and-goal situation in the second quarter. He later found Owen Potts in the end zone for a touchdown that ultimately sealed a Saints victory. Fairmont still awaits its Section 3AAA fate. Their first game of the postseason will take place next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. An opponent will be revealed on a later date.
