FAIRMONT -- Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), Martin County Sheriff's Office, Fairmont Police Department and Mayo Ambulance responded to an incident involving a 2019 Honda Pilot SUV and an e-scooter electric bike at 12:36 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Highway 15 and Johnson Street in Fairmont. According to the MSP report, the electric scooter and Honda Pilot SUV were northbound on Highway 15. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Johnson Street. The Honda Pilot SUV driver, Xue Schrader, 40, of Fairmont, was unscathed and wore a seatbelt. The e-scooter electric bike driver, Elijah M. Thompson, 22, of Fairmont, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Fairmont hospital. The roads were described as dry. Alcohol did not contribute to the incident.
