Street sweeper/pickup collision on Wednesday in Faribault Co.

MINNESOTA LAKE TOWNSHIP -- Minnesota State Patrol, Faribault County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota Lake Fire and Ambulance, Wells Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance responded to an incident involving a construction street sweeper and a 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck at 7:03 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Highway 22 at Milepost 22 in Minnesota Lake Township in Faribault County. According to the MSP report, the construction street sweeper and the Ford F150 pickup truck were northbound on Highway 22. The vehicles collided near 550th Avenue. The construction street sweeper driver, Dean C. Wegmiller, 62, of Zimmerman, was unscathed and wore a seatbelt. The 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck driver, an unnamed juvenile, 15, was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato. The 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck passenger, Cody J. Winstead, 39, of Wells, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, wore a seatbelt and was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato. The roads were described as dry. Alcohol did not contribute to the incident.
