ABOVE: FAIRMONT — At the Fairmont Knights of Columbus meeting on June 2, members of ARC/People First were presented with a check for $5,500, representing half of the proceeds generated at the 34th annual Knights of Columbus Silent/Live Auction.

ABOVE: FAIRMONT — American Legion Lee C Prentice Post 36 was presented a Red Cross Certificate of Recognition, accepted by Commander Steve Fosness from Chairman Joann Woodward.

ABOVE: FAIRMONT — Martin County KnowHow, a unit of Project 1590, teamed up with the mentors and students of the Fairmont and Martin County West Robotics teams to help students in grades 3 and 4 build and program robots, and students in grades 1 and 2 explore science activities. ABOVE: FAIRMONT– McKnight Foundation representatives spent the day with local leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, business owners and community builders doing the steady, committed work of strengthening their communities from the inside out in Southern MN earlier this week.
In Fairmont they meet up with Benya Kraus from Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation for a walking tour of arts and civic spaces, guided by Blake Potthoff of Red Rock Center for the Arts, Celia Viesselman of Project 1590 and Jeff Rouse of Imagine Martin – Arts & Makers District–each offering a window into how creativity and community are shaping the city’s future.
