ABOVE: Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont and Sherburn received $15,000 worth of checks toward buying food for the Community Box program and the Backpack program for Fall 2026. Accepting the donation is Food Shelf Chairperson Greta Lintelman. Federated Directors Jon Saxen, David Meschke and Scott Thiesse presented the check to the food shelf.

ABOVE: HERON LAKE/OKABENA — The Heron Lake/Okabena Community Cupboard Food Pantry received $5,000 worth of donations on behalf of Federated Rural Electric, Basin and CoBank. The food shelf will buy food and personal hygiene items. Community Action Partnership Food and Nutrition Manager Nikki Knobloch accepted the check from Federated Directors Troy Post and Glenn Dicks.

ABOVE: JACKSON — The Jackson Food Shelf received $5,000 in donations. Funds will go toward food, hygiene items and baby supplies. Director/Pastor John Schuetz and Treasurer Angela Schultze accepted the check from Federated Directors Glenn Dicks and Tyler “Red” Ayers.

ABOVE: FAIRMONT/ST. PAUL — Mr. Millette’s fifth and sixth grade students from St. John Vianney Catholic School in Fairmont recently visited the Minnesota Science Museum in St. Paul. The hands-on activities were a lot of fun and offered good learning experiences.

ABOVE: FAIRMONT/MANKATO — Students in Ms. Simmering’s Writing Class were honored at An Author’s Reception on Monday, May 4, at the South Central Service Cooperative conference center in Mankato. Their contest entries of poetry, fiction and informational essays were selected for honors. (Corporate Offices in Durand, Wis. and a Tire and Service Center in Blue Earth) announces Alayna Buntjer from Fairmont High School as one of the winners of the G.F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer/Bauer Built, Inc. Scholarship Award. Alayna is the daughter of Jason and Kari Buntjer. Alayna will attend South Dakota State University and pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications.
