SENIOR DINING

IN FAIRMONT

Meals are served at Friendship Village at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Milk is served each day. The menu is subject to change.

To reserve your meal, call (507) 238-1650 between 9 a.m. and noon the day before.

This project is partially funded through a grant from Region 9 Area Agency on Aging under Title III-C of the Older Americans Act and is sponsored by Lutheran Social Services.

FAIRMONT

Monday — Ham with pineapple chutney, sweet potato casserole, broccoli, dinner roll, applesauce, cookies and cream cake, milk. Alternate: Country-fried steak.

Tuesday — Creamy chicken tortellini, Italian blend vegetables, garlic toast, peaches, toffee dessert, milk. Alternate: Scalloped potatoes and ham.

Wednesday — Creamed chipped beef over toast, seasoned mini bakers, carrots, Mandarin oranges, ice cream, milk. Alternate: Chicken and vegetable stuffing back.

Thursday — Roast turkey stuffing, green bean casserole, bread, butter, fruit cocktail, fruits of the forest crisp, milk. Alternate: Chipped beef hotdish.

Friday — Catch of the Day, creamed peas and potatoes, bread, butter, pears, cherry cheesecake fluff, milk. Alternate: Turkey commercial.

LSS MEALS ON WHEELS (in partnership with Heartland Senior Living in Truman)

Meals on Wheels in Truman helps older adults maintain good health and remain living at home, by providing hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday, as well as a friendly visit and safety check for Minnesotans age 60 and older. Note: The menu is subject to change due to supplier issues. To sign up for the program or for further information, call Holly at (507) 776-2031.

IN BLUE EARTH

Meals are served at Blue Earth Senior Center from noon Monday through Friday. Milk and bread are served each day. The menu is subject to change. Meals are catered by St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. The cost is $4 to eat in and $6.50 to take out.

Monday — Spaghetti bake, lettuce salad, Italian ice cup, breadstick, bread, milk.

Tuesday — Glazed ham balls, creamed potatoes, green and gold beans, coconut cream pie, bread, milk.

Wednesday — Brat and bun, tater triangle, baked beans, watermelon, bread, milk.

Thursday — Orange chicken, rice, stir-fry vegetables, ice cream, bread, milk.

Friday — Fish, garden rice, winter blend, lime delight, bread, milk.

ON WHEELS

Hot Meals on Wheels is available Monday through Saturday for convalescents and persons who cannot purchase and prepare adequate meals. This is a community project and is non-profit and not government-funded.
