Homecoming next week at Truman Schools

TRUMAN — September is School Board Month. Thank you to James Farnum, Maria Haler, Paula Heckman, Kenna Krahmer, Jeff Nauman and Mike Pfeil for serving on the Truman School Board.

Truman High School’s after-prom party sub sandwich fundraiser is going on through October 4. Subs are $6 each or 10 for $55. Subs are made on 12″ poor boy buns from Schmidt’s Bakery and are layered with ham, turkey, white and yellow American cheese. Contact a THS senior, junior, sophomore, or Zanna Sill at (507 384-8471 to place an order. Subs should be picked up at the school cafeteria from 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The Farmers’ Market will be in town from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Graf Park, Truman. Vendors are welcome to come and sell produce and goods free of charge. The Power of Produce Program is offered to Truman Area youth and senior citizens this summer. Truman Active Living Farmers’ Market tokens can be used at the Truman Farmer’s Market and Granada Garden’s Market, both located in Truman. The tokens are available at the Truman Public Library and from Pat Jones at the Farmers’ Market.

AJ’s Onion Rings will be at T-Town in Truman from 2-7pm, Friday, September 20.

Truman Public School’s homecoming will be Sept. 23-27. Congratulations to the 2024 homecoming court; Shelby Evans, Addison Sill, Abby Hinton, Coral Osborn, Braeden Shell, Kasen Mosloski, Jayden Bentz and Carson Hastad.

School activities during the day will include decorating the halls at school, a dodgeball tournament, trivia, scavenger hunt, parade and a pep fest.

After School/Events that the public will be invited to:

* Coronation at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, int school auditorium

* Volleyball game on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Truman gym. Varsity at 7 p.m. with B and C squads prior.

* Parade on Friday, Sept. 27 around Truman. Start at 1:45 p.m. from the school.

* Football game beginning 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Truman football field.

Martin County Human Society will be holding a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Fleet & Farm in Fairmont. Gluten-free baked goods will also be available. All proceeds will benefit the homeless animals.

Lewisville Legion Auxiliary chicken supper serving from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.

School breakfast and lunch will be free for all students in Pre-K-12th grades at the Truman Public School. Parents are still asked to fill out the lunch application forms as the state will still use this information to base yearly funding for the district.
