MADELIA — Madelia Health is holding a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening of the Truman Clinic. The ribbon cutting will be held 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, with an open house from 4-6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a drawing for door prizes at the end of the event. Please wear a mask inside the clinic.

In August of 2021, Madelia Health signed a five-year lease with the City of Truman to open the clinic space formerly occupied by Mayo Clinic Health Systems. Since taking over the clinic, Madelia Health has remodeled the interior, added new furniture and equipment, signage, decorating and landscaping. Much of the decorating in the Clinic was done with photographs taken in Truman, and one wall includes a historical photo collage.

“We wanted to be sure that patients at the Truman Clinic know our level of commitment to this community and to rural health care,” said CEO Jake Redden. “At Madelia Health we understand the importance of taking care of a town, your history and, most importantly, people.”

Madelia Health caregivers that serve patients in Truman are all residents of the area. Certified Nurse Practitioner, Carolyn Drevlow, grew up in Truman and currently resides just blocks from the clinic. She has been a nurse practitioner in the area since 2003, and most recently worked at Dulcimer Medical Center in Fairmont and Ecumen Hospice in Owatonna. Carolyn sees patients of all ages and provides care for acute illnesses and minor injuries, chronic disease and medication management, immunizations, well-child care, sports physicals, adult physicals and preventive health care. Carolyn is joined at the Clinic each day by Registered Nurse Lauren Schofield and Patient Services Representative Ashley Holm.

The Truman Clinic is located at 401 N. 4th Avenue, and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. It is adjacent to the Heartland Senior Living facility. Patients can make appointments now by calling (507) 776-8783.
