Goldfinch welcomes new Executive Director
FAIRMONT– Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont has a new Executive Director. Kacey Kasel started in her new role just this week.
Kasel is from Fairmont originally and attended Presentation College when it was here. While attending school Kasel had the opportunity to work.
“I worked at long-term care settings. I originally started at Goldfinch and it helped capture what area of nursing I was more in love with,” Kasel started.
She said it was nice stepping stone toward figuring out what avenue of nursing she wanted to go down.
She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Kasel also carries an additional licensure as a public health nurse and a school nurse.
Kasel has experience working in in several different settings, including hospital, nursing home, home health and assisted living in Winnebago, Wells, Truman and Elmore. She really enjoys working in geriatrics.
“Aging is a privilege so assisting those who have given so much of their lives is rewarding,” Kasel said.
When asked how she came to be Goldfinch’s new executive director, Kasel said opportunity for this position was brought forward to her.
“I felt the need to make that transition, career-wise,” Kasel said.
She was previously managing three different senior living sites and is looking forward to having one she can focus on. She also looks forward to helping to meet the needs of the people in the community she ives in.
“I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces and being in Fairmont,” Kasel said.
Goldfinch Estates is a Vista Prairie community. It is the largest of Vista Prairie’s nine senior living communities with 92 one and two-bedroom apartments for seniors who want access to supportive services and 41 memory care suites for seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
