LSS MEALS ON WHEELS (in partnership with Heartland Senior Living in Truman)

Meals on Wheels in Truman helps older adults maintain good health and remain living at home, by providing hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday as well as a friendly visit and safety check for Minnesotans age 60 and older. NOTE: Menu is subject to change due to supplier issues. To sign up for the program or for further information, call Holly at (507) 776-2031.

MONDAY — Beef brisket, twice-baked potato, baked beans, bread and butter, warm fruit casserole, peaches, milk.

TUESDAY — Smothered pork chop, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable blend, bread and butter, strawberry shortcake, mandarin oranges, milk.

WEDNESDAY — Lasagna, garlic toast, Sicilian vegetables, lemon bars, seasonal fruit, milk.

THURSDAY — Nacho chicken with shredded lettuce and tomatoes, Spanish rice, seasoned black beans, ice cream cup, pears, milk.

FRIDAY — Catch of the day, fried potatoes, green beans, bread and butter, raspberry ripple, melon cup, milk.

IN BLUE EARTH

Meals are served at Blue Earth Senior Center noon Monday through Friday. Milk served each day. Menu is subject to change. Meals are catered by St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Cost is $3.

MONDAY — Spaghetti bake, breadsticks, lettuce salad with dressing, Italian ice, milk.

TUESDAY — Glazed hamballs, creamed potatoes, green and gold beans, coconut cream dessert, milk.

WEDNESDAY — Bratwurst on a bun, tater triangles, baked beans, watermelon, milk.

THURSDAY — Orange chicken, rice, stir-fry vegetables, ice cream, milk.

FRIDAY — Lemon pepper tilapia, mashed potatoes and butter, winter blend vegetables, lime delight, milk.

Hot Meals on Wheels are available Monday through Saturday for convalescents and persons who cannot purchase and prepare adequate meals. This is a community project and is non-profit and not government funded.
