North Union and GHV traded blows in the second, with GHV leading 5-2. PRIOR LAKE — Fairmont’s Ethan Madsen finished his time in the Clay Target State Tournament on Friday with a state-championship performance at the Minneapolis Gun Club, shooting all 100 targets he saw to tie for first place overall in the male individual division. After finishing the first session of the individual competition with a round-one score of 25 straight targets hit, Madsen did it again in the second round to close out the first session. Three Cardinals named to BSC All-Conference Baseball Team

FAIRMONT — Three Fairmont baseball players were named to the Big South Conference All-Conference Baseball Team over the weekend, along with three Honorable Mentions. Junior Joseph Hackett and sophomores Josh Soelter and Joey Crissinger were both named to the Gold Division All-Conference Team, while junior Joe Long, sophomore Luke Haefner and freshman Mason Bicknase were Honorable Mentions. Bicknase was one of two freshmen to be mentioned the BSC All-Conference Team, along with Tri-City United’s Brendan Frederick on the Black Division team.

The honorees included three golfers from Fairmont, as the Cardinals had three individuals on the all-conference girls golf team.
