Zelaya, Zarling, Beemer make All-Conference

Three golfers from the Fairmont boys and girls golf teams earned Big South All-Conference Team honors for their efforts this season. Klay Beemer was the lone male to earn a spot on the team after his solid senior season this spring. Junior Katherine Zelaya and Senior Leslie Zarling were the representatives on the girls' side.

Late offense drives Martins past Bulls

JACKSON – The Fairmont Martins scored four runs in the final four innings to take down the Jackson Bulls, 4-3, during Wednesday night’s contest at Wacker Field. Joey Crissinger’s two-run home run in the top of the fourth turned the Martins initial one-score deficit around. Competitive soccer in the Fairmont Soccer Association continued to rack up results this summer. Here are all the scores and stats from May 30 to June 4. May 30 LX United 12U got the best of Slumberland U12G White in Holman, WI. Lainee Matheson had six saves, while Brookelyn Izen had three. Suckow, Leiding highlight District Awards

The Fairmont flag football team had a handful of players earn spots on the Flag Football District Awards for the 2026 season. Audriana Suckow and Adriana Leiding were the two Cardinal individuals to make both the All-Tournament and All-District teams. Kate Hagen, Maya Earhart, Alissa Moore and Chloe Darnell were recognized as honorable mentions. Fairmont finished the season with a 5-5 record, beating Lakeville North in the District 4 quarterfinals before falling to New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva in the second round.
