Schultz earns bid at state

GYMNASTICS MANKATO – Martin County Area Magic gymnast Lillie Schultz earned a state bid for her performance on bars during Friday night’s Section 2A Championships in Mankato. Schultz marked an 8.775 on the routine, finishing sixth in the event. The Magic as a team notched a score of 136.6, good enough for fourth place behind Mankato East, Mankato West and Blue Earth. Schultz finished sixth in All-Around with a score of 35.875. Jadyn Montgomery’s 34.2 was good for eighth in the same category.

WRESTLING WINDOM – After defeating Worthington 45-23 in the opening round of the Section 3AA Team Wrestling Tournament, the Martin County Red Bulls were bested by Windom-Mountain Lake 42-28 in the second round of the bracket. A 10-7 decision win from Brock Jagodzinske (114 lbs) over Worthington’s Bly Scott put the Red Bulls on the board in the first matchup.
