ST. PETER - The Fairmont girls tennis team had its seven-game winning streak snapped during Thursday's 5-2 loss to St. Peter. The Cardinals will close the regular season next Thursday with a home match against Tri-City United at 4:30 p.m.
Singles
Allison Slama and Emelia Klanderud took the two Fairmont points in their singles efforts. Slama beat Kylie Southworth, 4-6, 6-3. 6-3, and Klanderud's 6-2, 6-1 win over Kady Thomas proved impactful. Ella Dirks beat Carly Gustafson, 6-0, 6-1. Brielle Romasiewiez defeated Ada Edmundson 6-4, 6-1.
Doubles
Margaux Letts and Natalie Salfer took down Cadleigh Jobe and Ella Dresselhaus, 6-0, 6-1. Katherina Zelaya and Addison Toothaker took Maddy Ruffing and Kate Moelter to three sets, but ultimately fell 6-3, 2-6, 2-6. Leah Boomgaarden and Addy Jaeger bested Ellena Laven and Malana Nigon, 6-4, 6-2.

MADELIA - Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther lost to Madelia on Thursday night, 19-25, 20-25, 19-25. The Jaguars will continue their season this weekend at the USC Rebel Invite. Willow Singeton had 22 digs. Vienna Thomas had five kills. Both her and Kyana Thomas recorded a block.
