FAIRMONT - The Fairmont tennis team picked up its 11th victory of the season during Thursday night's 6-1 win over River Valley. After losing to St. James on Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Cardinals have strung together four straight wins versus Luverne, Blue Earth Area, and Redwood Valley. Fairmont will play New Ulm on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Singles
Emelia Klanderud took down Selene Krohnfelist, 6-1, 6-0. Chloe Oreonun toppled Katherine Zelaya, 7-5, 6- 4. Cadleigh Jobe defeated Lexy Nelson, 6-0, 6-2. Regan Olson bested Morgan Annsdorf, 6-3, 6-4.
Doubles
Allison Slama picked up her 50th varsity win with the help of Ada Edmundson, as they beat Layn Beyer and Jazzy Robertson, 6-1, 6-0. Carly Gustafson and Addison Toothaker took down Delaney Rex and Bronwgn Sotenson, 6-0, 6-1. Malana Nigon and Ellena Laven defeated Regan Macny and Ranee Domber, 7-5, 6-0.

FAIRMONT: 3, WASECA: 0
WASECA - Fairmont volleyball has now won back-to-back contests after Thursday night's 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 victory over Waseca. The Cardinals will compete in the Tri-City United Volleyball Invite on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m.
Jadyn Montgomery notched 14 kills, and Kaylee Kloeckner added nine. Ella Wubbena recorded 29 set assists. Nora Fitzgerald had 14 digs, with Lilli Ortega and Adylen Laven tacking on 12 and 10, respectively.
MCW: 3, ALDEN-CONGER :0
TRIMONT - Martin County West has done it again. It's now seven straight wins to start the 2026 fall season, the latest being Thursday night's 25-12, 25-13, 25-22 victory over Alden-Conger in Trimont. The Mavericks have completed the three-set sweep in all but one contest this year.
Brynlee Haukoos had a team-high 14 kills while notching one ace and two blocks. Maddie Carlson recorded nine kills, and Jaylee Hanson added five. Ida Rohman had 27 set assists and two aces. MCW will compete in the Hummel Invite this Saturday at Jackson County Central.

MCW: 60, MADELIA: 16
MADELIA - Martin County West moved to 2-1 after Thursday night's 60-16 dismantling of Madelia. The Mavericks will take on Lester Prairie next Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Trimont. Quarterback Maddex Faber threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Kaedin Lange led the ground game with his 101 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown. Pierce Rohman added 86 yards and two scores. Lixon Forsberg and Preston Cepress caught the receiving touchdowns from Faber. Forsberg finished with 59 yards on two catches.
