PREP VOLLEYBALL

NEW ULM: 3, FAIRMONT: 0

NEW ULM - New Ulm defeated Fairmont on Thursday night, 26-24, 25-14, 25-18. Ella Wubbena had 14 set assists and two aces. Jadyn Montgomery had a team-high 11 kills. Adylen Laven had five, while Kaylee Kloeckner notched four. Nora Fitzgerald had nine digs, while Laven had eight. Halyn Haycraft recorded nine set assists. Fairmont (2-3) takes on Madelia next Monday at 7:30 p.m.

PREP TENNIS

FAIRMONT: Fairmont tennis took down Blue Earth Area on Thursday night, 4-3, at home. The Cardinals are now 8-1 on the season and will take on Redwood Valley next Tuesday.

Singles

Allison Slama beat Abigail Greff, 6-0, 6-1, and Emelia Klanderud beat Abbey Lorenz, 6-0, 6-0. Ella Swanson got the best of Carly Gustafson, 6-3, 3-6, 10-1. Elaena Schiltz took down Ada Edmundson, 6-1, 6-2, 10-3.

Doubles

Katherine Zelaya and Cadleigh Jobe defeated Brooklyn Rosanae and Natalie Schiltz, 7-5, 6-3. Jessi James and Amaya Mensing won over Ellena Laven and Addison Toothaker, 7-5, 6-1. Lexi Haycraft and Malana Nigon beat Emersen Weir and Emily Schrader, 6-1, 6-2.

PREP BOYS SOCCER

FAIRMONT: 4, MARSHALL: 2

FAIRMONT - The Fairmont boys soccer team made it three straight victories after defeating Marshall 4-2 on Thursday night.

Dammon Castillo notched the first two goals in the opening half of play, bringing Fairmont to a 2-0 lead into intermission. He notched his third and final score to break the 2-2 tie and give the Cardinals a permanent lead. Alan Rosales had the final goal to seal the win.

Fairmont (3-2) will play Cannon Falls this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
