NEW ULM - Martin County West volleyball continues to stack victories. Three sets were all it took for the Mavericks to blow past New Ulm Cathedral during Tuesday night's competition, winning 25-10, 25-20, 25-14.
Three Mavericks had strong nights on their serves. Maddie Carlson, Brynlee Haukoos, Jaylee Hanson, Rowan Faber and Sydney Clow combined for 55/56 on serves. Carlson had five aces and Hanson had one. Carlson had a team-high eight kills, while Hanson and Haukoos had seven. Ida Rohman had 26 set assists.
MCW (2-0) will face St. Clair this Thursday in Trimont.
NORTH UNION: 3, B/K: 0
ARMSTRONG - North Union moved to 4-2 on the fall after taking down Belmond-Klemme in three sets - 25-11, 25-20, 25-16 - on Tuesday night in Armstrong.
Samantha Hoye had 29 set assists. Ainsley Ulrich had 10 kills, while Maisey Bierstedt and Shallie Walders each had eight. Ulrich led all Warriors with 11 digs. Hoye and Cloey Anderson both had nine.
The Warriors will travel to West Hancock next Tuesday.
USC: 3, GHEC/T/ML: 0
NORTHROP - United South Central bested Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther during Tuesday night's clash in Northrop, winning 25-18, 26-24, 25-17.
Addison Barrick had 19 set assists. Kyana Thomas had five kills and Ashlynn Dirks had four. Thomas also led the team with four blocks. Willow Singleton had 30 digs. Tisa Rosales-Wegner went a perfect 13/13 on her serves.
GHEC/T/ML takes on Sleepy Eye St. Mary's this Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
