NEW ULM: 5, FAIRMONT: 0

NEW ULM -- The Fairmont Cardinals fell to the New Ulm Eagles 5-0 on Tuesday night in a Big South Conference, nondivision boys soccer game.

Fairmont goalie Brady Deuel made 15 saves in the loss, nine in the first half as the Eagles held a 1-0 lead entering halftime. Fairmont had three shots on goal in the game. The Cardinals will take on Waseca this Thursday at Jeffery Kot Fields starting at 7:00 p.m.

ST. JAMES: 6, FAIRMONT: 1

SAINT JAMES - The Fairmont tennis team dropped its first match of the season on Tuesday night, falling to St. James 6-1 on the road.

Alison Slama dropped to Elizabeth Shores, 6-7. 5-7. Ellie Ronsnahc, 6-2, 7-6. Claire Carlson defeated Carly Gustafson, 6-1, 7-6. Ada Edmundson beat Adyson Leimer, 6-2, 6-7, 10-5. All four singles matches had at least one tiebreaker set.

Vaera Aguilar and Ruby Cistle beat Cadleigh Jobe and Ella Dresselhaus, 6-2, 6-1. Soraya Aguilar and Julia Wesima bested Katherine Zelaya and Addison Toothaker, 6-0, 5-7, 6-3. Maren Bluedorn and Kaeem Ellis defeated Malana Nigon and Ellena Laven, 6-2, 6-3.

Fairmont will return home this Friday to take on New Ulm at 4:30 p.m.
