TRIMONT - It took just three sets for Martin County West to notch its first win of the season against Adrian/Ellsworth on Thursday night in Trimont, winning 25-21, 25-13, 25-20. Ida Rohman had 34 set assists. Sydney Clow went a perfect 13/13 in serving and picked up two aces. Maddie Carlson had a team-high 17 kills to go along with her seven digs. Bailey Larson and Brynlee Haukoos had 10 kills each. Jaylee Hanson had eight kills and four blocks. Giana Chase recorded four kills and three blocks.
Martin County West (1-0) will play New Ulm Cathedral next Tuesday on the road. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.

SLEEPY EYE: Sleepy Eye took down Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther in four sets on Thursday night - 25-27, 25-22, 25-15, 25-15. Willow Singleton had 28 digs while going 15/16 on serves. Addison Barrick had 19 assists. Kyana Thomas had six kills, and Meredith Miller notched three solo blocks.
GHEC/T/ML (0-1) faces United South Central next Tuesday at Martin Luther High School. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
