Early damage costs Martins in Game One

WINDOM - Five runs in the first inning was all the momentum No. 1 Windom needed during its 7-5 victory over No. 2 Fairmont during Game One of the Region 10C Championship series on Wednesday night at Island Park.
The Martins outhit the top-seeded Pirates 11-8. Joey Crissinger had three hits, one of which was a double. Lance and Levi Becker each had two hits, while Eli Anderson, Vincent Schultz, Joseph Hackett and Ben Abel each had one. Levi Becker led Fairmont with two RBIs.
Jack Hested tossed all eight innings for the Martins. Two of the seven allowed runs were earned. He finished with two walks and one strikeout on 106 pitches.
Game Two of this series will take place at Herb Wolf Field in Fairmont this Friday night. First pitch is slated for 7:30 p.m.
