FAIRMONT – The win streak has moved to three. Wednesday night’s 10-0 victory over the Heron Lake Lakers helped the Fairmont Martins improve to 10-4 on the season. Fairmont has won four of its past five contests. Jack Hested pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and striking out six. Levi Becker tossed the final frame to shut the door. The 10 Martin runs came from nine hits. Joseph Hackett and Nolyn Goerndt each had two hits, with Goerndt connecting with a home run in the bottom of the fifth. Fairmont walked four times and struck out just once. The Martins will play the Windom Pirates next Wednesday at Herb Wolf Field for their final home game of the regular season.
