EUGENE (ORE) – Fairmont Track and Field athletes Jase Meade and Ellie Perkins completed their participation in this year’s Nike Outdoor Nationals and USATF U20 Championships on Friday and Saturday in Eugene, Oregon’s Hayward Field. Both athletes were in the Pole Vault Emerging Elite competitions.

Meade started with his turn on Friday morning. He got up to 14-00-75 in height, securing the crossbar in his second attempt, to lead to a 26th-place finish. There were 75 athletes competing overall.

The following day, Perkins competed against a pool of 46 other individuals. The sophomore placed 11th with an impressive height of 11-03, achieved on her final attempt down the runway.
