ST. JAMES – Brayden Williamson had five hits, brought in three runs, and was one of many key contributors to a 14-4 Fairmont Jr. Legion Post 36 victory over St. James Jr. Legion Post 33 on Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Field.

Caden Wickert and Eli Sheard joined Williamson by collecting three RBIs themselves. The trio combined for nine of the Cardinals’ 14 hits. Brock Rodning, Preston Geerdes, Archer Pomerenke, Troy Peterson and Louis Grensteiner also recorded a hit.

Geerdes tossed the initial four frames and allowed three hits and one earned run. Peterson finished the rest with two strong innings of shutout baseball. The two combined for seven strikeouts.

Post 36 stays on the road this Saturday with a trip to Maple River. First pitch is slated for 11:00 a.m.
