MCW 11, NICOLLET 1
NORTH MANKATO – Home runs from Stella Rohman and Maddie Carlson in the third inning of Thursday afternoon’s game against Nicollet pushed the Martin County West softball team to an 11-1 victory at Caswell Park. The Mavericks are now 20-1 and will face Fairmont this Friday at Fox Lake Area Sports Complex in Welcome.
Carlson tossed all five innings against the Raiders, striking out eight batters and allowing one walk. Rohman and Carlson’s home runs weren’t the only signs of life from MCW’s offense. Addy Wohlhuter had two hits to go along with an RBI. Bailey Larson had one hit and two RBIs, while Lillie Schultz had one hit and one RBI. MCW has won 11 straight games since its last defeat to Cleveland on April 30.
ACGE 11, GHEC/T/ML 6
NORTH MANKATO – Seven runs in the top of the sixth inning pushed Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons past Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther 11-6 on Thursday afternoon at Caswell Park.
Peyton Stohs threw all seven innings for the Jaguars. Her finishing stat line read nine hits and six strikeouts, with just five of the 11 total runs being earned. She also walked four batters. Five different GHEC/T/ML players notched a hit on the afternoon. Mariel Parish had two base knocks and a walk. Chloe Nestegard, Laticianna Rosales Wegner and Maeson Olson each picked up a hit while combining for all five RBIs. The Jaguars’ lineup drew three walks and struck out four times.

SC 7, FAIRMONT 0
CHASKA – The No. 8 Fairmont tennis team dropped its opening competition to No. 1 Southwest Christian High School 7-0 during Thursday afternoon’s opening round of the 2A Section Tournament.
Davis Wurst took down Zachary Ashland, 6-1, 6-0. Isaac Wilson defeated Aiden Mutschler, 6-0, 6-0. Tinashe Chimukangara bested Audrina Suckow, 6-0, 6-1. Jack Rhouo beat Jensen Schomberg, 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles, Tyler Slama and Jonah Vetter took Wade Ganske and Brody Uglum to three sets, but ultimately lost, 5-7, 6-4, 10-4. John Tucker and Drew Denton had the upper hand over Lillian Ortega and Hudson Clayton, winning, 6-1, 6-1. Caden Thomas and Emmett Coddington secured a victory against Leander Nelson and Parker Olsen, 6-0, 6-2.
