WINDOM – Fairmont split their two-game tournament in Windom this past weekend, taking down Adrian Area 12-1 before losing to Minneota/Canby 8-7. The Cardinals’ offense combined for 25 hits, and has scored seven or more runs in six of the past seven contests. However, Minneota/Canby scored two runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh to ultimately pull away. Fairmont scored three runs of their own in the final inning, but came up just short of tying the contest and sending it to extras. Miller led the team with three powerful hits, two of which were a triple and a home run. Williamson also knocked one out of the park. Both Miller and Williamson had two RBIs. Sundeen had two RBIs as well and one double. Kurt had another multi-hit game. Miller tossed six and one-third innings while allowing five earned runs.
