MADELIA – The Martin County West softball team continues to stack victories after beating Madelia on Friday afternoon, 16-0. The Mavericks move to 14-1 on the season and have won six consecutive games since their lone defeat of the year to Cleveland on April 30. Maddie Carlson and Sydney Clow combined for the four-inning shutout. Carlson took the first three frames and struck out seven batters. Clow came in for clean-up and struck out one herself. Carlson went 3-4 from the plate with a double and four RBIs. Courtney Anderson had a three-run home run. Emily Schettler had two hits, while Bailey Larson and Stella Rohman each picked up a base knock. The Mavericks will compete in a mid-season tournament on Saturday at Walnut Grove Park. Their first contest of the day will be against MACCRAY at 11:15 p.m.
